Kohn<\/u><\/a>\u00a0was joined by Boris Vukasinovic, Deputy Director the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.antikorupcija.me\/en\/\"><u>Montenegro Agency for Prevention of Corruption<\/u><\/a>, as the two headlining speakers. Mark Worth from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whistleblower-rights.org\/\"><u>European Center for Whistleblower Rights<\/u><\/a>\u00a0moderated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNew whistleblower laws are being passed all over the world, but attorneys and activists need real-life skills to fight back against witness retaliation,\u201d Worth said. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot more to winning than knowing the law. We\u2019ll share our successful techniques.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kohn,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kkc.com\/rules-for-whistleblowers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>the most published author on whistleblower law<\/u><\/a>, spoke on the importance of taking measures that diminish the chance of employer retribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/kkc.com\/whistleblower-services\/whistleblower-retaliation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Retaliation against whistleblowers<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;creates a massive chilling effect on people willing to report corruption,\u201d Kohn said. \u201cWhen people know their rights, the chance of blowing the whistle without vengeance increases dramatically. The key to success is making sure citizens, as well the public officials in charge of whistleblower protection, understand how these rights work in real-life situations.
